Buncombe County Schools is the name of the government body that oversees the public schools in Buncombe County, North Carolina. The members of the Board of Education are elected for four-year terms, and new members are elected every two years. The Buncombe County Schools System is the largest in Western North Carolina with nearly 26,000 students and 41 schools. It is also one of only 8 school districts in North Carolina to be accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
